CHAPTER 2

Navigating your dashboard Your impact.com dashboard is the hub of your account. From this view, you can see some of the most important information at-a-glance. Let’s take a tour of each dashboard module.

Balances

The balances section provides an overview of your account’s financial state.

You can find the following information:

Today’s earnings: Earned funds for the current day. Total pending: Earned funds that aren’t due yet. Balance: Earnings available for withdrawal to your bank.

Snapshot gives you the chance to see your high-level performance over time. See your performance during a specific period by adjusting the date range of the graph.

Create a link

Create a Link allows you to generate tracking links to promote a brand. You can access this any time via the link icon. Select the program you’d like to generate a link for, enter a landing page (or leave it blank to send traffic to the program’s default page), and click on the blue pencil icon to enter your vanity link. Once you’re done, click Create to produce your unique tracking link. Good to know: You can create up to 5,000 vanity links. ✨

Find new brands to promote

Find New Brands to Promote pulls in recommended brand campaign listings from the impact.com Marketplace based on your account details. From this view, you can find new programs that are relevant to you and apply directly.

Proposed contract updates

Proposed Contact Updates lists any contract changes a brand may suggest. If you see a proposal, click on the campaign name, review it, and approve, decline, or counter the offer.

Notifications

To access your account notifications, click on the bell icon. You’ll receive notifications about significant changes to your account, such as contract changes, payments, etc. Good to know: Edit your notification settings by clicking the cog icon in the notifications panel. ✨

Under General , you can update your information, adjust user access to the account, refine your impact.com Marketplace listing, and more. Let’s take a closer look at some of the most important general settings available.

Invite a user

Invite a User serves as mission control for user permissions. Invite, edit permissions, and remove users with access to your account. You can also adjust the sub-rights available for each user (e.g., a user can view account financials but not edit the settings). This allows you to calibrate your team’s access based on their role.

Account user authentication

Account User Authentication allows you to set security rules at the account level. Make your account as secure as you need, such as requiring users to change their password periodically.

Marketplace profile

Marketplace Profile builds your public listing on the impact.com Marketplace. Add your business model and other details, such as a logo, description, and keywords, so brands can find you. Complete this information immediately to make your account more attractive to brands in the Marketplace.

Media properties

Add the different media properties you own to your Marketplace listing under Media Properties . Having verified media properties on your profile makes brands more confident in working with you. To add a media property, click on Create a Media Property . Select the type of property you want to add from the dropdown. From there,

you’ll go through a simple verification process (where available).

Technical settings

Add information to help the platform run smoothly under Technical . Click on Data Feeds , API, or Event Notifications to access these settings.

Data feeds

Data Feeds allows you to receive data from the platform, such as actions and promotions, without logging in. The options include Daily Action Feed and Daily Promotional Ad Feed .

Daily action feed

Daily Action Feed can create a feed that notifies you of new actions or updates to existing actions. Schedule a list of actions to be sent to you via FTP or email at a set frequency.

Daily Promotional Ad Feed can enable a feed that notifies you of newly added promotional ads, like discounts, free shipping, and coupons. API access

You may want to use impact.com’s APIs to run reports, pull ads, download product catalogs, view contracts, and more. Before making API calls, enable API access on your account.

Start by clicking on API Access .

When you hit Enable API Access , your API credentials appear on the screen.

Event postback notifications

Set up postbacks to receive real-time notifications whenever actions you drive are reported, modified, or reversed. Postbacks update third-party systems in real-time via HTTP server calls. If you’ve set up an event notification and a trigger event occurs — like a brand modifying an action you drove — impact.com sends a postback to your provided URL. Start by clicking on Event Notifications. Under Event Postback Notifications , set up real-time notifications when actions are tracked, reversed, or modified.

Good to know: Notifications may be delayed up to 15 minutes after an action is generated.

Global notifications

To receive updates for all events within the campaign, set up global postback notifications. Insert your postback URL under Action Life Cycle Events in the URL field. Click Show/hide optional parameters to view parameters supported by the impact.com platform.

To set up event notifications at a campaign level, navigate to My Brands by clicking Brands > My Brands in the top navigation. From there, click on the brand campaign you want notifications for. In the campaign widget, click on More > Tracking integration to go to that campaign’s postback settings page.

Once you reach Postback Settings, you can set event-level notifications. First, select the action you want to track in the dropdown. Then insert your postback URL in the URL field. Click Show/hide optional parameters to view parameters supported by the impact.com platform.

Click on the Products tab if you work with a brand that has product catalogs. Under Product Feeds , set up the file format for your product catalog downloads.

Change language settings

The impact.com platform is available in a variety of languages. To change language settings, navigate to the profile icon, then click Edit Profile .

Setting up two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is required for all users because it greatly reduces your security risk. You need to verify your mobile phone number against your impact.com settings. If you use a separate mobile authenticator app, you still need to add your phone number to your settings to access your account. Set up 2FA by clicking the profile icon, then Edit Settings .

Setting up your financial information Ultimately, you invest in brand partnerships to increase revenue for your business. Ensure your financial information is entered into the platform correctly so you can get paid.

If you partner with a brand based in the US or select USD as your currency, you need to submit an electronic tax document. Enter your tax information carefully to ensure you’re getting paid properly. To provide your tax information, navigate to the settings page, then select Tax Documents under Finance .

Submit a W9 form if you’re an individual or LLC residing in the US and doing business with US companies.

Submit a W8-BEN form if you’re an individual residing outside of the US and are doing business with US companies.

Submit a W8-BEN-E form if you’re an entity residing outside of the US and are doing business with US companies.

With the impact.com Marketplace, you can access thousands of potential partnerships. The Marketplace makes it simple to apply to public-facing campaigns with top brands. Sign up to impact.com Marketplace in one of two ways:

● Through a brand: If you sign up for impact.com

directly with a brand, you can enroll in the Marketplace once your account is live.

● Directly: You can also sign up for the impact.com Marketplace through the impact.com website.

Once you’re signed up and approved in the Marketplace, find and apply to brand campaigns. New brands join all the time, so check the Marketplace regularly to find partnerships that could be a good fit. To access the Marketplace, go to Brands > Find Brands .

Once in the Marketplace, use the search bar to find brands that interest you. Search for brands by name or keyword and use filters to refine your search. You can also search for brands based on the different categories in the left navigation bar.

To find out more about a brand’s campaign, click on the brand logo to see the full Marketplace listing. The listing gives you useful details like:

One of the key benefits of impact.com is that the platform makes it easy for publishers and brands to seamlessly exchange assets and affiliate links. See some essential tools that will help make affiliate marketing easier for you.

Generating sub IDs and shared IDs

You can append unique ID parameters to your ads for reporting purposes.

There are two types of parameters:

Sub ID: Commonly used to distinguish traffic derived from multiple sources such as home pages, newsletters, mobile apps, or social media. These are only visible to you Shared ID: Accomplishes the same goal as the Sub ID but is used when you want to share information with the advertiser. These are visible to both you and the brand

If you want to append a sub or share ID to your tracking links, toggle Tracking Parameters . Enter the values you want to attach to the link in the fields provided, then click Save .

The tracking link will automatically update to include the ID. Click Copy Tracking Link to obtain a new link with the parameters.

Under Listing , you can see conversion level data for a given period. These are the most granular reports available and can be used to look up details of a specific conversion. Action listing reports only show basic conversion data, while advanced action listing reports show every data point available for a given conversion.

Filtering reports allows you to customize your data points according to your needs. Standard filters include the option to focus on a specific date range, advertiser, sub or shared ID, ad, and more.

Action ID shows the unique ID assigned to every conversion. Clicking on an individual ID link brings up additional details about the conversion.

Status displays the payment status of each conversion.

If your status is:

Pending : These conversions have yet to lock or be paid Approved : These conversions have been locked and will be paid when they clear. Remember: Wondering when actions will be locked or paid? Check your contract.

Action Earnings displays the commission you earned for that particular conversion. This is dictated by your contract.

If you attach unique reference IDs to your campaigns, you can find them listed for each conversion.
